What is Women’s Super 8s hardball cricket?
Women’s Super 8s hardball cricket is a transition format designed to help players move from soft ball to hard ball cricket. It is typically played in smaller, local or triangular competitions rather than long league days.
How does it work?
- 8 players per side
- 16 overs per innings
- Batters play in pairs for 4 overs each
- 5 runs deducted per wicket lost
- Keeps all players involved throughout the game
What equipment do I need?
Played with a hard ball (usually 4.75 oz) and full protective gear, including pads, helmet, and gloves. Matches are often played on slightly shorter pitches (19 yards) to encourage participation and skill development.
When is training and matches?
- Training: Mondays, 6:00 pm
- Matches: May to September
