What is softball cricket?
Softball cricket is designed for all skill and fitness levels. The emphasis is on fun and inclusion, making it ideal for beginners or those returning to the sport.
We play in the Devon Women’s Softball League which is for ages 13+ (we have players from 15-50+); we also offer courses for younger players (5-11).
How does it work?
- Matches typically last 2 hours
- 8 players per side
- Batters play in pairs for 4 overs each
- 16 overs per innings
- 5 runs are deducted for every wicket lost
- Everyone gets a chance to bat
What equipment do I need?
No equipment needed! A softer, lighter ball (3.5 oz) is used, and bats are typically plastic, removing the need for pads, helmets, or gloves.
Club kit is available from Devon County Sports (we sometimes have spare player tops available).
When is training and matches?
- Training: Mondays 6:00-8:00 pm
- Matches: May to September
- Location: Exwick Playing Fields https://w3w.co//over.humid.teams
